Ding dong, ding dong, Christmas bells are ringing! Welcome friend to our Southern Colorful Christmas Home Tour! I’ve been dreaming and scheming for months about decking our halls with bright holiday decorations and I can’t wait to give you the first look.
The theme of the year? Christmas trees! Everywhere. And I LOVE it! Color. That was the other theme. It is officially the most colorful time of the year in the Martin Family Home and I just can’t help but smile!
There’s a whole lot of details to cover, so let’s get to the tour, shall we?! Let’s begin in my favorite space, living room!
Santa’s coming RIGHT HERE! This is my first year using our new prelit flocked Christmas Tree. I got it from Amazon and am so impressed by the quality! I wasn’t sure how it would blend with all our brighter green Christmas decor, but I think it fits right in! I have a mixture of our flocked tree, traditional green trees, and even gold trees in our little house and it just all comes together like a winter wonderland of twinkling trees!
Our white sweater stockings have been collected over the past few years as our family has grown to FIVE! Somehow they all just go together nicely even though they are different. I just look for white ones with two pom poms when I need a new one! I added the Sugar Paper La gold gift tag letters for each of our family members and a DIY yarn tassel to coordinate with our chunky tassel garland that you will see in just a bit!
Our Modern Colorful Christmas tree is filled with a collection of white ornaments from Hobby Lobby, Sugar Paper La Blush ornaments, and Gold, Navy, Pink, and Blue ornaments from Target’s Wondershop line. My favorite ornaments are the gold and silver mercury gemstones! Funny story, these were displayed on a Target Christmas tree last year and I just HAD to have them. So I did what any holiday shopper would… I took them right off the tree and popped them in my red cart. Didn’t think twice that their tags didn’t have a price listed…
Come to find out, as I was checking out all my holiday scores, the gemstone ornaments WEREN’T for sale. Why would Target display ornaments that aren’t for sale? No one knew. I begged, pleaded, and gave my best puppy eyes and the sweet cashier boy just couldn’t say no. 😉 He gave them to me for a DOLLAR a piece. Yes!!!
This sweet custom hand-lettered frame was a gift from my dear friend Maghon Taylor of All She Wrote Notes. Talk about the perfect gift for any Mama! You can get your own HERE!
Meet my DIY Chunky Tassel Garland! I got the idea from Pinterest and am OBSESSED! All in, the tassel garland cost me around 10 bucks and makes a huge colorful and bright punch in our entryway!
I couldn’t just stop at the tassel garland… oh no! I got all kinds of yarn crafty with this giant pom pom garland with gold glitter ribbon tails for our Christmas Bar Cart! She’s so festive and fun. The girls’ pink sequined Santa Hats are up for grabs in a Target Dollar Spot near you!
Here is our Modern Colorful Christmas Dining Room! If you caught our Fall Dining Room Tour, you might recognize the DIY painted centerpiece idea! I just adored our DIY painted colorful pumpkins, and figured I could make a similar look for the holiday season. I simply grabbed some craft cones and used the remaining spray paint I had left over from the easy pumpkin painting project. Score for leftover paint! Instead of the color block look I did for Fall, I decided to try mixing all the tree colors together and finished the look with some gold glitter votives.
Let’s head on over to the kitchen! I added a boxwood wreath above the cabinets and a fun Christmas print on the kitchen walls! Mema’s blue hutch got all gussied up with a Noel Marquee and a mini Christmas tree and boxwood wreath. She’s never looked so good!
Last but not least, our Navy Master Bedroom got a little touch of holiday joy, too! Perfect for late night nursing sessions. 😉
Well, friend, that’s the full tour! I hope you enjoyed it! Here’s to a magical Christmas and a Happy New Year with you and yours! Merry Christmas!
